to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson. The ER docs took an X-ray and found that my right lung was almost full of pneumonia and the left lung had a few spots. They started an IV and admitted me and I was there for three and a half days. I was released on Thursday and the doctors wanted me to call and tell my personal physician in Colorado that I was not to drive back to Colorado or pull the trailer. That’s when we called SkyMed.

Doris spoke to Jim and explained that we needed help getting home and getting our RV back to Colorado. SkyMed told us they could provide a driver to pull our truck and trailer back to Colorado and would fly us home. Doris told him our son-in-law, Mike, could drive it back for us and SkyMed arranged and paid for his flight down and gave him money for miscellaneous expenses along the way. Mike arrived and got the trailer ready and pulled out on Saturday morning with our home on wheels. Thanks to SkyMed who arranged and paid for our flights, Doris and I flew out a little after noon. Mike arrived home Sunday evening and everything went as smooth as glass.

How did you find out about SkyMed and why did you choose SkyMed?  About four years ago we listened to a SkyMed rep give a short lecture about their services while we were camped at that same RV resort. It sounded exactly like the kind of thing we might need and was very well presented. We also do a lot of overseas travel and it’s our understanding that a medical transport can cost $30,000 or more. But since we have the SkyMed membership that has the Global Emergency Travel Service included, we will call SkyMed and they will make the travel arrangements to get us home.
